Why I Am Doing What I Am Doing

Frequently I am asked if I plan to continue in evangelism, if I want to pastor, or if I miss what I did in the past. They are good questions that all have the same answer. I love what God has given me to do and plan to do it as long as God desires. As I have reflected on the work God has called us to do these are my thoughts…

Rest Is In Someone Not Something

In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus unveils to His followers exactly where they could discover rest for their souls. These verses mean a great deal to me, and I’d like to share with you some of the lessons God has taught me through this passage. Chinatown is a densely populated neighborhood that attracts many tourists with its Southeast Asian restaurants and shops. I remember my visit to Chinatown as a senior in high school, and I can assure you it was an interesting experience.

Poor Substitutes for Peace

Who is The Saddest Man on Earth? We have discovered it is not the lost man, but the saved man that chooses to live as the lost man: restless as the sea (Isaiah 57:20-21). There are many of God’s people who trust Christ with their eternal soul but do not trust Him with their lives. They choose not to live in the rest that can only be found in the presence of Christ. They make a poor substitution that costs them true joy and soul rest.

A Restless World

Restlessness has many victims. It is astounding to think of how many men lay their head on the pillow at night, utterly restless. Whether it be from their jobs, finances, or families, everything seems too difficult to bear. There is no peace or solitude for the soul, just a relentless “mouse chase” of the mind that leads to nowhere. Nothing ever works or seems to satisfy. Life only seems to be empty, and the belly never full.
